Hi there,

I’m in the middle of replacing my old electric ceramic hob that is old and damaged, the electric is its own dedicated run from the consumer unit to a box on the wall then into the old hob (30amp fuse)

the old hob simply has 3 terminals marked live, neutral and earth as I’d expected

however the new hob has 6 terminals marked 1 to 5 and a PE. it comes with several jumpers and just wanted to check the wiring with you

as per the image, am I supposed to be wiring the live to terminal 1 with a jumper linking 1 & 2, and wiring the neutral to terminal 4 with a jumper linking 4 & 5, then earth to PE?
I was hoping it would just be identical to the old one

any advice massively appreciated

Thank you

Phil

Yes, do it as you said. Electrical appliances are these days designed to be sold here and in the rest of Europe where they often use 2 or 3 phases, unlike here.

Brilliant thanks for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it
