I have a room with a toilet in it. I'd rather have it as a shower room.

What should I do about the soil pipes once I've removed the toilet bowls? How do I block them off?

Or can I simply have the drainage water going down the toilet's waste pipe instead of plumbing it into the sink's drain?

Thanks a lot.

Its fine to use the soil pipe as waste outlet for the shower, by just cutting back if necessary, capping the end, then boss into the top with your 42mm shower waste. A lot depends on where your soil pipe runs, i.e above or below floor level etc. but if you are installing shower enclosure directly where toilet used to be and you can get a reasonable 'fall' into the soil pipe all will be ok.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

Excellent news. Thanks very much.

What I want is to have a wet room and I'm happy to raise the floor level if needs be. The pipe runs below the floor so I think it should all work just fine.

Thanks again. It's appreciated - particularly at this hour.

If the toilet waste is in the right position you can get traps for wetroom floors that fit straight into the end of a vertical 4" pipe trimmed to floor level or a fraction below.
