Hi, I've got a mock Tudor house with wooden beams and pargetting on the outside walls. I need to replace the beams because they have rotted.
I've had a quote for hardwood beams (planks) but that's very expensive. Softwood will do providing I have it pressure-treated but, from past experience, I'm concerned about the knots weeping and looking unsightly. Can anybody suggest the best softwood to avoid this problem?
I'll be grateful for any advice and suggestions.
Mike.
