Our central heating control unit is no longer working. Want to replace it with an electronic one. It is connected to a boiler that heats up the water for the taps as well as the radiators. How do I choose a suitable replacement for under£45. Current one:

You need a single channel timer rather than a 2 channel programmer, assuming you have a combi boiler.
You can replace a randall 103 with a 103E5, say and it will fit the same backplate.
See http://www.discountedheating.co.uk/shop/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Time_Switches_1133.html

Or, if you change the wall mounting plate you can fit a different type, such as a Drayton Tempus 1:
click this lot and download Tempus 1 instructions

I can sell you a used but VGC 103e5 , or a new Tempus 1, for £20.

Only have a single boiler that heats up the water for central heating and warm water. Not a combi.

At the moment I either need to have it on constant and manually turn the radiator dials off lower or have it on timed and only have warm water when the timed section is on
