38mm thick  Must be a mistake surely?

Even paramount walling comes out a lot thicker than this!

What is the construction make-up of the walls? You have to also bare in mind an internal door is 34mm thick.

Hi,

The internal walls are made of sheets of wood that slot together, they are definitely 38mm thick. The house was built in 1960's and is timber frame.
The original door frames were recessed around the walls.

If i was doing any form of alteration in your house i would replace any walls with thicker ones that i could actually use regards door casings, fitting skirts, wires, pipes etc.
