Hi, we want to change our old thermo to enable us to control via Wi-Fi. Current one is an old analogue Honeywell with 2 wires, brown & blue.

I see loads available on Amazon, but is there anything specific I’m looking for with just the 2 wires?

Hopefully the pics are attached.

Well, how can I put it? You wouldn't need that or the cable!
Trace that cable back to your wiring centre and see which one it is. That cable will have to cut short and feed into the hub that came with the wireless stat (probably need a neutral as well) . That hub does the switching whilst the wall stat just sends the signal when needed.
I prefer Honeywell product's myself.
Fairly simple job.
