Hi fellas,
Thinking of replacing our old DG UPVC windows with new ones, mainly to reduce road noise in our terraced house. The old windows were there before we moved in to our current property 9 years ago, So they may be about 15 years old or more. The road noise has increased since our arrival. We replaced back windows upon taking our residency, which was old wooden windows but kept the front UPVC windows.
The question I'm asking is, has the technology and building materials improved from 9 years ago, in terms of better noise insulation and materials in standard UPVC double glazing windows, not the specialist acoustic windows, which would be very expensive and I don't live near a motorway or highway. What are the standard features I should be looking for when visiting a local windows' retailer and fitter. Cheers.
