Hey guys.

In the near future im going to look at replacing a couple of windows.

They are currently aluminium, on wood frames.

Today i noticed they are actually sitting in the cavity gap, so no idea how exactly they are fixed in.

My understanding was they should go on the outside wall, and fixed on the sides into the wall.

The walls are rendered/pebbledash, will have to take this away around the window to get it out.

Then fit the new one how i've said, or back where it is now?

Cheers.

It's possible the timber frames were built in and the alum window frames fitted after, collapsing both should not be a problem, some pics would be helpful...pinenot :)
