The side panels on one of my radiators are warped, loose and missing the clip that holds them to the radiator.

I don't know what the radiator brand is - other than the engraved letter "F", there are no visible markings. One of the other radiators in the flat says "NF49", so it's possible this one is the same, but still doesn't really narrow it down. They were likely installed in the early 2000s.

My plumber has said it could be difficult finding a side panel that matches and I'd be better off just replacing the radiator. Any thoughts?

If it's not a big one then he's probably right.
Or get an MDF radiator cover/shelf.

stick a pic up of the rad and someone might be able to identify the make

I fear that, even if you can establish the make, getting side panels for it might turn out to be impossible.
I had a brand new Pro-Rad radiator delivered with damaged side panels and I suggested to the supplier that all I needed were some new ones, but he said they were just not available and instead just sent me an entire replacement radiator!

Situation with Stelrads - delivered with munted side and top grilles - had replacement ones out next day delivery.

Guess you get what you pay for.

Here’s a photo of the radiator:
