How easy is it to replace radiator valves with TRV's. :?:

Will existing pipe to rad need adjusting ? or are they made the same size as existing valves?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I have looked through previous questions for this but could not find one.

Many Thanks. ;)

Fairly easy. Drain system, fit new valves. Note they come in different sizes to match your existing pipoework (8,10,15mm) also you may need to change the rad tail if it is a 3/4 fitting to a 15mm one

And check the forum again.....been asked and answered loads of times....good luck

usually there is no need to alter pipe work, but without seeing your valves we can't state that for certain.

Don't use the Siemens TRV's as the tail on these is about 1/4" longer than most, so will probably not fit existing pipe work, especially if coming out of the floor.

i have changed rad alves / tails before and usually most are 1/2" - with the trv being fitted to 15mm diameter pipes.

but if your old tail is 3/4" to 15mm pipe then yes change the tail as well as the valve!!!
