Hi guys, I'd be pleased of your advice.
I have a conventional boiler with a Honeywell 3-way diverter (wretched thing). Additionally I have two zone valves to control heating at the front of the house upstairs and downstairs separately. I have one Randall 972 controlling the HW/CH and another controlling the two zone valves. The 972s are mounted one directly above the other with only about 1 mm between them. One of the 972s has died :( probably because it has been affected by steam from the kettle!
I understand that I can replace both 972s with Danfoss 975s but are there any wireless controllers that I could use instead because:-
a) I fitted the 972s below a kitchen cupboard. Looked fine when they were fitted twenty years ago but my eyesight has worsened and it is the very b*$$@r to set them these days.
b) Might I be able to have remote thermostats , located in each zone, controlling the zone valves?
Thanks if you can help.

If it was me, I would keep the working programmer (or replace with a new single channel programmer) in current location just to control hw. I would imagine that hw timings don't change much.

Then I would have three wireless, programmable room stats for the three ch zones. Main consideration would be that whichever rooms these are situated in , will either have to have rads without TRVs, or at least have the TRVs left on max. Other wise the stats and TRVs would conflict with each other. Hopefully, the room stats will be positioned so that their displays are easier to read.

Thanks Whitespirit66
I've just realised (Doh!) the wireless thermostats have timing controls built in and the receivers don't have to be visible so presumably I can turn the TRVs full up, rewire to run the zone valves off the receivers, which can be out of the way, and replace the old programmer by a blanking plate. I can leave the working controller where it is controlling the HW and CH. I realise that the wireless controls will only work the zone valves and not control the boiler but that is fine. Sound OK?

The zone valves will already be wired to bring on the pump and boiler when they are in the fully open position so don't worry about that.
