HI All, I have a central heating system that comprises of the following, Ideal Classic boiler, old dial type Honeywell room thermostat (brown/beige coloured type), Drayton Tempus Four Weekender controller, three port motorised valve, and Gunfoss pump. The room stat and controller are situated on the landing upstairs, which is a pain as to alter the temperature you have to run up and down stairs.
My question is this, I want to replace the room stat with a remote control one, basically I want to be able to alter the temperature whilst sitting in the front room, I am not interested in the all singing and dancing ones controlled by apps, etc; I just want a basic non programmable stat that is an easy swap for my present one, i.e fitted where the old one is without a major rewire. I don't need to control it from outside the house, I do have wi-fi in the house if that makes a difference, any suggestions as to make/model, would be gratefully received. Phil

I think you might be looking for a wireless t/stat.
Will need wiring for the sensor, but probably not a major job & it will done where the boiler is.

Hi Diyisfun, thanks for the reply, I'm afraid it's not possible to place the stat anywhere near the boiler, as the wiring for the existing stat is already there I was hoping to put in place of the old one. Phil

You will need to wire the 'wireless' receiver into the wiring centre, normally located in the airing cupboard, then you can put the wireless part of the roomstat in the room you wanted to, (normally hallway)

You can put the stat anywhere, within reason. Its the receiver that needs to be wired into they system.
