Replacing tiled shower floor with shower tray

Thanks. Yeh that might work I have sent Kudos a technical enquiry form from their website for the measurement edge of tray to edges of the fitted trap just to be sure. Me and the Mrs spent ages looking for trays yesterday and didn’t come across that one.

It’s 5mm slimmer than the mira so should work nicely with the undercut.

Bought the connect2 and it’s in. Not got the waste done or glass yet but very happy to have the tray in.
I faced off the back edge of the undercut with 6mm cement board as it was just to rough then taped and tanked the lot. Then used tile adhesive to stick it down with Dow in the undercut with the tray pushed up against it got it to flow out on top of the tray most of way there was very little clearance and I could only apply so much pressure so I could see the silicone though filled them bits from the front.

Thanks for the help this has been a bit of a pig of a job but I think it now looks like it was always meant to be there, the level with the existing tile is almost spot on.

Looking good and if the joints are all taped, tanked and then silicone'd then you've done the best you can to waterproof it all.

Good to see the connect 2 also allowed you to get the trap/waste in a workable position.

Yeh I ended up running the tape in a C shape in the undercut and painting over the lot, ended up tanking and lapping the tape up the extra gap around the two sides, so it’s sort of sitting in a tanked bowl. I will tile the gap eventually.

The waste is the next job the current pipe is 40mm and takes the bath then sink then shower then to the soil stack outside. We had the issues when a big bath was let out some water backed up into the shower tray not a lot but enough to worry.

As I’m probably going to cut a 1m section of waste pipe out to connect the shower is it worth replacing this with 50mm and then at a later date replace the 40mm to the waste pipe with 50mm? Or it it makes no difference I can keep it all 40mm
