I am fitting a new shower tray i my new bathroom .It will be tiled on the walls and floor .The new tray stands on plastic feet i am worried about the tray flexing then leaking down between the tray and the tiles.Would it be possible to bed this tray on morter or tile cement ?

You could bed it on mortar, I wouldn't recommend tile adhesive it'll take forever to go off if you lay it that thick. Check with your installation instructions though, you might invalidate the warranty on the tray if bedding on mortar is not a recommended installation method.

As for water leaking down the sides, you should silicone the tray to the walls all along to create a watertight seal. You might need a couple of tubes for this...
