Hi chaps, i'm soon going to have to replace my (lead) incoming main from stoptap in road to house. Question is, when water supplier replaced their main pipe to plastic, will they have used a short length of plastic from their stoptap,(which I can easily connect to), or will I have to connect to lead?

Normally if you replace all the lead in your house (and underground) the water supply company will replace all lead their side. So you'll connect to plastic.
I take it your doing to water regulations. If so, they should connect free. If not they'll probably be a little length of lead left under the boundary.
