Hi Guys,

Can you repair the seat of taps that is damaged with more of a large chunk out of it than a crack? When I say chunk I mean that the taps are not dripping but almost pouring out.

I know you can use reseating tools, but are these just for hairline cracks/scores in the seat caused by grit etc?

In this situation is it better to just change the taps?

You can remove a lot of brass. Never failed to get one to stop leaking past the washer yet, though you can get porous castings.
A Monument diy reseater is only a few pouds - well worth a try.

you can't use a reseating tool on a tap with a chunk out of it you'll be wasteing your time

If there's literally a chunk of brass missing, then of course not. But if it's few mm worn away to a shallow depth, then you usually can.

Thanks for the guys, I thought replacing is the only option in the instance, just wanted to check.
