Help needed please!!

We've just replaced our kitchen and in doing so bought a new 1.5 bowl sink. We've reversed the sink so the half bowl is now on the right, but the waste pipe and other plumbing below has remained the same.

We bought a 1.5 sink fitting kit from B&Q but it doesn't fit. We need the longer arm on the right to up to the half bowl, and shorter to the left to attach to the main bowl, but the fittings are different.

Does the trap always have to go on the half bowl side?

At end of tether so any help will be appreciated!!

That was answer I was fearing!

Are there any issues with us adding extensions and elbows to the existing waste pipe so it will reach to join the trap the way it is supposed to?
