I have had a revitalise power shower fitted but get no hot water out of it.Checked hot water at the conection point to the shower unit and its red hot. When water comes out of shower head its lost its temp. Do I need to fit a pump to the hot water supply. The sink next to the shower water supply is red hot. Please help have fitted to units so far both have the same problem.

Have you checked the mesh filter to see if it is blocked, have you commisioned the unit as per the mi for temp control?
Pete

THANKS FOR THE REPLY.NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN BY THE mi CONCERNING THE TEMP CONTROL.THE UNIT IS A MIXER ONE, HOT AND COLD FEED TO THE SHOWER TRAY,FROM THE TRAY YOU JUST connect UP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PANNEL SHOWER AND IN THEORY, SO THE BLOKE IN B&Q RECONS IT SHOULD WORK.AS YOU PROBABLY HAVE GATHERED IM PRETTY NEW TO ALL THIS. HOW COME THE WATER CAN GO FROM RED HOT AT THE BASE OF THE SHOWER, THIS I HAVE CHECKED BY BACKING OFF THE conectors, TRAY TO LUKE WARM AND THEN COLD A FOOT HIGHER AT THE JETS AND THE FLOOD SHOWER HEAD.DO I NEED A PUMP.

Mi is manufacturers instructions. You have me a bit confused you say you have a power shower yet your asking do you need a pump? a power shower is pumped!

I think I know the type of shower unit you have they have small resticted waterways and do need a certain pressure and flow rate to operate correctly.
If you are feeding from a gravity hwc tank this may not be enough and you would need a pump then.

Pete what type of pump would you recommend to hit the maxium pressure.thanks Cavanagh.

All depends on what the mi says in terms of min and maximum bar.
I take it you have a hot water cylinder and not a combi boiler.
Salamander pumps are good value and reliable pump.

THANKS PETE I NOW KNOW THAT MI MEANS MANUFACTURER INSTRUCTIONS. THE MANUAL SAYS THAT WHEN THE WATER FLOW IS AT MAXIMUM THE WATER PRESSURE SHOULD NOT BE LESS THAN 1.0 BAR TO KEEP THE HEATER FUCTIONING NORMALLY IDEAL WATER PRESSURE IS BETWEEN 1.0 AND 5.0 BAR.THE FEED COMES FROM A HOT WATER CYLIDER IN THE LOFT SO I WILLL TAKE YOUR ADVISE AND FIT A PUMP. :) IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE INFO PLEASE FORWARD TO ME.

Think I get the point, but still not sure if I need a hot water pump or a hot and cold water pump.

Get a twin impeller pump for both supplies. However now you mention a heater where and what is that? make sure you can pump to it beforehand again back to the mi.
Pete

The problem with the MI is that there is no real info in it. The statement that i posted about the Heater is taken directly from the manual.I will go and get the pump you sugested and give it a go.As far as I am concerned the only thing it could be is the fact that the hot water has not got the pressure to get to the shower head even though it gets to the tap on the sink further down the line.Nice one with all the help mate, its kept me sane and stopped me slinging the whole thing in the skip.I now have two panel showers as i made B&Q me another one incase the first one was just a fault in the unit but I still have the same problem.

No worries pal we all get these things once in a while to try us lol.
I do think it is down to your pressure rate as these panels usually have lots of small bore piping inside to feed god knows how many outlets so need a good push.
Make sure you put some full bore or gate valves on the hot and cold feed to the panel for easier servicing.
You can pick up the pump and valves cheap at screwfix.

The staff at these big sheds rarely have knowledge about the products they sell they rely on what it says on the packet unless you are lucky enough to get a more mature person who was in any form of trade.

Good luck
Pete
