Hi - Can anyone offer advice - We have a Riello Oil Burner RDB2.2. The complete unit was replaced at the beginning of the year and we have had problems since. The motor is seizing and causing the fan etc to jam. If you turn the fan until there is no resistance, then it will restart. It only runs for 30mins to a couple of hours and then the same thing happens again. It runs on Diesel and has the lubricant additive in the tank and the pressure is set to 12Bar. Has anyone had similar problems. Our previous pump ran for many years without problem until it needed replacing but we don't know why this new one won't run properly. Thanks for any help offered.

Remove the oil pump and check for tight spots when rotated also the motor.

Hi - Thanks for your response. There's no tight spots on the motor. The tight spots are on the oil pump. The plastic dog which connects the oil pump to the motor becomes stripped and has to keep being replaced.

Hi - The pump has been replaced 3 times this year, most recently about 1 month ago. The filters have also been replaced and the fuel tank has been cleaned and there is no water in the fuel.

running it on sec35 is your problem. the pump is not designed for sec 35. and then if you add additional lubricant you will ruin a pump even quicker as a kerosene pump doesn't need it. If you have to run it on sec 35 rather than sec28 drop the pump pressure down to 10 bar. it will run a little cooler then and the heat seizing should disappear.
