Riello pump pressure test

I want to check the pressure on a Grant Vortex Riello burner, but can't find any info on residual pressure; eg if I remove the test-point Allen screw, will it spit out 8 bar of kerosene all over the utility room, or does it only work up to that pressure when running?

The pump only produces pressure when the motor is spinning.....all you’ll get is a drop or two of kero.

With the greatest respect, asking a question such as this does suggest you should not be messing with your burner.

Agreed, but skilled tradesfolk in remoteland are impossible to source, so I have to learn new skills - even if I don't want to!

What model burner do you have? The pressure port usually used is the conveniently placed lower hexagon screw below the pressure adjuster.
What problems do you actually have?

I would add without combustion analysis equipment you can't safely make any meaningful adjustments to a oil burner.
