the shower is fitted with a mixer tap and the water feeds are from mains and combi boiler.
turning shower full on, the water runs cold til hot water runs (obviously), this is ok then after a few seconds at this very hot temp, the hot pipe knocks. Turning the mixer tap for colder water stops the knocking for a few seconds. In the end I have to run the shower at warm/cold to stop the knocking.
Using hot water anywhere else in the house does not cause any knocking, so problem is from the shower mixertap.
Trawled the plumbing pages, but cant find any similar symptoms
