Hi guys, I have the Ring Doorbell Pro and am not going to use the included DIN type transformer included in the box instead I have purchased a 18VAC transformer that just plugs into a 13amp plug socket.

Supplied with the transformer is a diode, do I need to use this diode and if so where do i wire it in ?

Many thanks

Thanks, I'm only going to use the chime ( which is WIFI ) included in the ring doorbell pack...why would I want to integrate it with my old electric doorbell ?..I'll be removing that in a few weeks once I'm happy the Ring Doorbell is doing it's job.

So in that case I take it I won't need the diode if i'm not integrating it into a previous standard doorbell ?

Thanks I guess the whole thing is confusing me as I can't see why anyone would want to keep both.
