Ring Floodlight Cam

Installed one of those ring floodlight cams

It was connected to the lighting circuit

However everytime i turn the light on the device on/off there is a grinding sort of noise at the switch internally

Does anyone know why that is or what it could be?

Maybe the switch is on the way out and needs replacing? How old is it?
