It's a military tanker, that can also serve as a troop transport and has been refitted to make it slightly nicer. I don't know how important paint colour is in the age of radar but it's going to be less useful for its main purpose if painted with nice pretty colours.There are a few articles that suggest its 300k a pop if you are doing a fleet, if the above is correct that’s probably the best part of 500k.

It probably makes good commercial sense vs chartering. Particularly with the need for security and Covid cleaning. You also have the option to fit basic defence features not available on a charter.

Not sure which scifi film that comes from but obviously having the plane puts us on par with the USA. Boris has no hope of becoming President of that - whoops he was born there so may be able to. Next best thing - have the plane. Then paint it in colours that make it far more obvious to make it easier to shoot down. The plane and kitting it out might work out at 1m plus let alone a snazzy paint job.
