So I am laying a sandstone patio on 6-1 sharp sand to cement.

Got a couple of rockers, I think it is because it rained heavily right after I finished.

Problem is, underneath is now solid concrete, what is the tactic? Hammer and chisel and then I was thinking of using some SBR in the mix to make sure it sticks this time?

Any tips? It's a right pain!

Hammer and chisel but if you could cut round the outside first it could stop the next one starting to rock too.

Can't help with the sbr, I'm not even sure what that is.

Try and cut it out if you can. Blattering away could unsettle neighbouring flags. The sooner you remove them the easier it will be.

Sorry to say the rain did not cause your rockers, they were incorrectly bedded. The sbr is a good idea but rocking flags are caused by poor bedding practise, not lack of adhesion.

Mortar consistancy is the biggest key to good bedding so use plenty of plasticiser and dont be afraid to throw your mortar back in the mixer for a few turns to liven it up.

Thanks guys. R896neo- I think you have a point about the mix looking at it under the rocker. Will give it some attention...
