Hi

I am building a timber framed shed in the garden - first time ever! And having fun. I have planning for the 5.4 x 2.1mts single story shed.

I am working on the walls at the moment, but the roof is looming and I wondered if anyone could answer me these questions?

How do you decide which angle your roof should be at? Is it purely up to what it looks like? I am using Onduline as the roof covering.

Also how do you start to build the roof, once you have the angle. I imagine building a triangular frame at each end of a bit of say 6x1 between them onto which i put all the rafters?

Any help or advise apprciated!

Thanks

ian

sorry meant to also add that that book has all the relevant lengths and cut angles for most pitches of roof, As the name suggests its main use is as a ready reckoner but it will serve you fine, with regards to instructions to cut a simple pitched roof.
