Roof for kids Den

I'm building the kids a den and want to keep it cheap and cheerful. I've started it by using pieces of timber screwed together to make a small rectangle structure and it will be down the side of the house out the way.
The den is 167cm long by 95cm wide.
I want to put a roof on it and wondered what my options are. I looked at possibly corrugated plastic sheets but these are nearly £50? I need something fairly cheap that can just stop the rain coming in.
Any ideas?

Even a scrap of black plastic (dpm) stapled down would last a few years
