Hello and sorry if this topic has been covered before but i got a bit tired of ploughing thru 130 plus pages on here................

I have recently boarded out my loft and put insulation between the rafters under the tiles and felt.
I know that the two main beams along the sides of the loft are rather important but i am confused as to how important the three cross beams are and if it is possible to remove the middle one to prevent ducking under it everytime.

I have added a couple of photos to aid my problem........the loft area is a bit more organised than in the pics but,

in the first pic the cross beam at the front of the picture is in the middle of the loft and if possible i want to cut this out. The beam at the back of the pic is only 18inch from chimney breast so not in the way.

in the second pic, the beam at the front is the same middle cross beam and the one at the back of the picture is only two foot from end wall.

I only want to remove the middle of the three cross beams.

any help or advice would be appreciated.

thanks

cant see any pics so would say no as im guessing they will be stopping you roof from spreading .

As chuk said can't see the pictures so would have to agree. How high is the ridge? How higher could the tie be moved up to give you the room you require? Almost nothing is impossible but we do need all the facts , measurments and pictures.
