We've got a large rooflight (2.5 x 3.5 m) in our morning room, made from polycarbonate. When it rains heavily, the noise is something dreadful, and when it's a hot day, it's baking hot underneath!

I'm considering putting a false ceiling underneath it to reduce the noise and glare. Ideally it would be some other sort of plastic to allow the light in; if all else fails, then maybe would consider wood instead.

Can anyone recommend best type of sheet to use? (Pref one avail from B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix etc)

Thanks

anything thin will have limited impact on sound this includes 9mm cladding
you need to decide what you want then plan accordingly
you want light and quiet then double glazed and relativlly expensive roof lights

Is the Polycarbonate Dome Rooflight just a Single skin Dome?

Typically, larger Dome Rooflights like this should be triple skin, this will give better Sound Insulation!

Good luck!
