Hi all

I am currently having a problem with the central heating. I have a vented gravity fed central heating system and indirect hot water. I have hot water but no heating at all. The boiler is working fine.

The stat for the central heating is showing on its display that it is calling for heat. There is a light on the three way motorised valve indicating that the central heating is being heated but as I say it isn't. If I put the lever on the motorised valve on to manual overide the central heating starts to work.

Could someone tell me if they think its the room stat / programmer or the motorised valve or suggest how to check.

If you need anymore info let me know. Thank you for your help in advance.

Cheers

Kenny

Valve actuator...you could check for 240v coming back on the orange wire from the valve to make sure.

You could check for 230v at the white wire(in the wiring centre). If you have power there then it's most likely the valve motor failed. If your valve is a Potterton or Myson(they have the lights on them) then change the head and wire like for like. That is only one scenario, but I would start by doing that.
