Hi, A small area of let's have rotted underneath the bath, Is there something I should do to help stabilise the ceiling below?

The other laths look quite raised from the plaster, Shouldnt the plaster be interlocking with them?

Many thanks

Prop up ceiling using a board to support across.
Vacuum dust off laths. 50/50: PVA and water over. When PVA is dry pour plaster over and spread around. Can also sit plasterboard over the wet plaster for extra support. After 24h remove prop from below.
It's a known fix. Really wants ceiling replacing.

Might need something like stainaway to paint ceiling as will stain with the wet plaster

Is there any sign of damage to ceiling , if not no point fixing something that’s not broken .

Hi again, thanks for your answers, is there something that I can use to strengthen the areas where there are no laths at all?
Is that where I would use the plaster board?
