Hi all, Daughter moved to a house with broken gate post as is rotten at ground level. The post is 6" x 6" deal, also a couple of 3" x 3" fence post supporting a 6' x 6' panel rotten at ground level.
My question is thinking of using angle iron driven down in two opposite corners of rotten post and concrete leaving 2' above ground and bolt to post. Has anyone had experience of this, I understand you can possibly remove rotten stump or dig in a concrete spur. Thanks for you time!!

I have used concrete spurs in the past.
The downside is that you need to dig down beside the existing post and clear any old concrete but they work well.
There are metal things that you can drive in, you probably need a lot more than 2" left above the ground
