Hi
I am running cables under a loft floor, (2.5 T&E Sockets Ring, 1.0 T&E Lighting cable) in preparation for the electrician to test and connect.
There is a 50mm gap under the new loft floor joists(between them and the existing ceiling joists), that is now filled with 'Earthwool' (Knauf's version of Rockwool/Mineral wool quilt, just a bit more dense) fitted tightly (in places) underneath.
Rather than drill holes though each Joist to run the cable, can I not push the cable under the joists instead, it will be in close contact with the mineral wool where it is pushed under the joist (45mm) - also can I drape the cable across the top of the mineral wool to the next joist, or should I raise it up a little in the void by clipping to the side of say the joists blocking.
I ask as I know there are some issues with running cables next to certain types of insulation.
Thanks.
