Didn't someone just put the parking camera at the wrong end!
 
I think the reasoning for the 'back to front' seat had something to do with surviving crashes. The deceleration in a 'head on' crash would be absorbed by the relatively well supported seat instead of relying on the seat belts to keep the occupant(s) in place.

I believe military aircraft often adopt rear facing seats for aircrew who aren't involved with looking out the windows and keeping the aircraft up in the air for the same reason.
 
We bought the children's version of Brittanica (print) about 17 yrs ago, agreed it was well worth the dosh... skirmished with buying the mature version but eventually deferred to the net/cd and the likes of Encarta... Where is that now? Heaven only knows, but I know where the kid's Brittanica are shelved.
