Hello all.
Getting my 1920 2 storey mid terrace with 4 inch solid red brick walls rewired which means alot of new cable and new consumer unit.
The consumer unit is mounted on an internal load bearing wall in the corner with the front external wall. All cables are running vertically from the consumer
Previously all cables were buried below plaster but with all the new sockets and wiring the width of the chase is going to be alot bigger.
I haven't measured exactly but I reckon foot and a half and 20mm chase (plaster is approx 10mm).
Wondering if there is any guidance on the width of a chase? Or if anyone sees stability issues chasing this wide into an internal structure wall close to a corner.
I know could wall mount and get plasterer to bond out the wall or use trunking but I'm curious as I can't seem to find a width guidance.
Cheers
