sagging floor

We have a brick home built in 1904 that we are rehabbing. A room on the second floor has a one and half inch sag. We have tried to jack up the floor from the first floor but are not making much progress. It appears a wall had been removed from the first floor and a beam had been put up for support. Since we are planning to put new flooring on the second floor, we want it to be as level as possible. Any suggestions? How much of a sag is too much that would need professional help.

Thanks,
