Recently moved into a new (to us) house. The 1st floor bedroom floor has a definite unevenness to it - noticeable when you walk across, with a distinct sag in one place. From downstairs their is a crack in the (artexed) ceiling approx 50cm long.

Needless to say it wasn't picked up be the (full) house survey we had done before we bought!

Need some help...
What might be the problem (bust joist?)?
How easily might it be to fix?
Do you reckon I have any recourse to the surveyors for missing it?

Cheers, Rob

Until you either pull floor boards up or the ceiling down, you won't be sure what's wrong with it.

When you found out what is wrong with it, then you approach the surveyor's, but don't hold your breath.

Their job is reall to make sure the whole place is safe and structurally sound, a sagging floor isn't an issue in their eyes.
