We had some work done on the damp proof course at the front bay of our house a few years back. As is normal, the plaster inside was removed and the wall replastered.
What we now have are two patches about 0.5 sq feet each on either side of the bay which appear periodically to be damp, these patches are situated at the point where the new plaster meets with the original plaster (about 3-4 feet off the ground).
I understand that this might be caused by salts in the plaster and wondered if a salt neutraliser would be effective in curing this problem? I know the alternative would be to hack off the effected areas and replaster again but I would rather avoid this disruption if possible.
What is the general opinion please? and are there any recommendations for the best/most effective type of neutraliser?
