Samsung Galaxy Card

I have a Samsung Galaxy and was changing the sim card to another provider. The sim tray has three dividers but when I gently put the tray back in with the new sim, the last divider broke. It was almost in so I continued to push it in - not sure whether I should have done that - but I have got the signal etc., and it is working, I can buy another sim tray but how do I get the old one out or should I go to a repair shop? Or, should I just leave it alone now? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Personally I would just leave it alone and worry about getting the old tray out if it stops working.

Hi Fred, I did smile at your response. After all the trouble I had trying to get the ........ original out, I am glad you agree perhaps it is best left alone. Again, thanks for taking the time to reply.

did you use a pin in the hole to release the mechanism for it to pop out about 5mm??

i assume its the same as my galaxy a12??

Thank you for your reply. I used a bent paper clip. Initially it opened up easily but it was a bit difficult to pull out so maybe I weakened it when pulling it out although I did try to be careful. The sim tray has three sections and the new sim went in the middle of the three.

Watch YouTube for how to remove and correct insert method.
Also you can buy new SIM trays online cheap enough.

I understand how it can be found difficult as I've had a few seconds of trouble and had to start again. It's not obvious which way around it all goes together without looking online and taking your time

Thank you for your reply. I had watched YouTube and it was very helpful. It was difficult to remove it but I was very careful. It did look as though the tray itself was very flimsy when it came out and I have ordered a new tray, I will leave the old one in for now (it does work even though the last third part of the tray is broken) but keep the new tray for a reserve should I need it in the future. I also had to check on line which way round it went, thank you again for your help.

Find a phone shop which does repairs, changes batteries etc.
They'll have the bits if needed, or put your mind at rest!

Seems to be working OK for now, keeping fingers crossed or I will need to find a repair shop. Thanks for replying.
