Hello

We are having the gable wall in the living (solid brick wall) sand / cemented and then skim coated.

We are having this done by a contractor

What would you expect. Would there be two layers of sand /cement put on the wall. How long do you need to wait between coats of sand /cement and skim coat

Thanks

IMO, 4:1 sand & NH lime is the mix - not cement.

I found not many plasterers plaster in lime ... is it really necessary ... will sand/cemnt do

Its no different spreading S&L than S&C. Perhaps you are confused with lime putty plaster?

Nothing to do with any consensus - check with SPAB or any of the Conservation societies or officers.

I was wondering about the wall, plaster and plasterboard juction. How should it be, A or B (see attachment). Advice appreciated
