Sand for top dressing lawn

What alternative sand can I use to top dress my lawn for areation the horticultural sand is so expensive any answers would be appreciated

I use a mixture of sharp sand, sifted top soil and peat.

Thankyou I thought that when I aerated my lawn I had to put a layer of sand down first so it goes into the holes to aid drainage
