Had the sandblasting done yesterday in my front room. Any suggestions as to the best way to clean them now? Would a wire brush on a drill damage the beams an leave tanning marks or is it just better to stick to scrubbing them with a stiff brissled brush and a hover.?

So iv now cleaned the beams now at last, i would like the celin replastered, i spoke to a plasterer an he wants to come this saturday, he asked me to mask up, an oil the beams after plastering.
Wouldnt i be better to oil the beams first, to protect them from the plaster an also it wont matter if i get oil on the celin, or will white emulsion cover oil?
Was thinking of useing boiled linseed oil, whats your thoughts on that?
Many thanks

Just a thought ,, but if you oil first you might have a job to get the masking tape to stick.
