Hi All

Does anyone here know how difficult/expensive it might be to have a saniflow system removed and have everything connected to the main plumbing system?

We currently have an en-suite but the toilet, sink and bath in it are all run through a saniflow system (which I can't understand as the main family bathroom is next to the ensuite). It takes FOREVER to drain a bath and sometimes the smells coming from the drains are grosse. So we really would like to get the en-suite plumbed back in to the main system.....I just need to know whether a simple bonus from work will cover this or maybe a second mortgage may be required??

Thanks,

Lisa

Does seem strange if a Saniflo has been used if there is a reasonably adjacent stack for another bathroom. A Saniflo is usually kept as a last resort when mains drainage is prohibitive....

Depends where the stack is in relation to the ensuite, (external stack probably easier to connect to), not impossible but amount of work involved is impossible to say without seeing the job. Be surprised if its second mortgage territory though.....

well, the stack seem to run down from the main bathroom and then down through the kitchen. The new extension work (which includes the ensuite) basically wraps around the side and back of the house so all the external walls are now internal walls. I don't think it would be too hard to get through to the stack.....

Means more work and disruption getting at the existing stack to connect, but unlikely to be impossible. Plastic stack fairly easy to work with, cast iron (or anything else) would be more awkward.

Alternative is new external stack for ensuite, depending on position of room in relation to drains.
