Hi, my upvc side opening sash handle wont close all the way. I suspected toe & heel required so re did that but no joy.
I noticed at the bottom of the opening side there was a definate slight gap where the sash closes onto the vertical frame, and sure enough when pressed from the outside the window closes and latches properly.
Is there a way of adjusting this gap or is it a case of the frame has just warped somehow.
Thanks for any advice Ian.

Lubricant on all moving parts may help, how old is the door?, my rear doors at 10 years old needed a new lock mechanism which was an easy fix for poor performance.

Potentially sounds like the hinges, but I'd normally expect to see the gap on the back edge. A picture would make it clearer.
I'm guessing when the window is open that the handle works perfectly OK?

Thanks for the replies, yes the handle works fine when window open. Theres a couple of mm gap from the bottom of opening edge tapering up towards the handle. Its not hardly visible on a photo, but enough to make the bottom bolts catch on the keeps.
Strangely the bottom horizontal section of the sash is tight to the frame.
I've filed a bit off the keep slot and that has improved it, so I will do a bit more of that and hopefully do the trick.
As I said it latched fine when pressed from the outside, so must be a bit warped.
Cheers guys.
Ian.
