I own a 2005 Honda CR-V which has a built in sat nav/radio/cd. Recently I have been getting the dreaded 'disc reading error' on screen which means that the nav will not boot up for ages (if at all). I've been on to the Honda owners forum and have found that this a very common error and means that the unit will have to be dismantled and the lens cleaned.
The unit is made by Alpine and appears in other makes of car apart from Hondas.
Has anyone attempted to dismantle and clean the lens and was it sucessful?
If I bought an updated dvd would it work?
I was thinking of blasting it with a can of compressed air first- where can I buy this?
Any advice would be appreciated.
