Ok..I have a SATA drive from another comuter of mine whcih contains various programmes, files etc and has XP installed onto it and I have bought a caddy for it to plug into my computer which has the other type of drive via USB. The computer doesnt have a OS on it at present as I have reformatted it.

The question...........

If /when I plug the SATA drive in via the USB will the computer pick up the operating systemand run as normal?

This is a temporary measure until I can get around to upgrading the motherboard, chip and memory to something a little more meaty to accomodate CS3 and other photo software

Thanks..

If your computer has the ability to\boot from USB then it might work. However, it depends on whether the two PCs use the same HAL. If it does boot you will need to install drivers for any hardware the old OS doesn't recognise.
