Sceen blackout

What could be the reason for my screen blacking out,it just happens randomly for a second or two. It's a dell XPS Gen 3.

Does the monitor sync out ? i.e. as if the computer was not turned on ?

Does this happen when running any particular piece of software, game etc...?

Check all monitor connections first then try a different monitor if you can to rule this out.
