Quick question, I have got some ditra matting to put down before tiling my floor.

Do you have to use a rapid set adhesive? I was planning on using BAL singlepart flexible adhesive as that is what I was planning to use to tile the floor also (black galaxy style granite 300x300x9mm).

Is that ok? Worst case if needed to use rapidset then could get some Mapei from screwfix, just to fix the matting with??

Also, should I use a 4mm trowel or 3mm - they say either, but was thinking 4 might be better.

Then was planning on an 8mm round notch for the tiles.

Thanks

If I did use Single part Flex, would that be ok though - would take longer to go off, but I just want to make sure it doesn't peel off after a few days!!

Same with tiles, for granite, I want to use non rapid set to give a more time when laying as don't want to be in a rush against setting time!! But not sure if the longer setting time will then cause bleeding into the tiles or any other problems.

Is 8mm rounded OK for the walls to or should I use square?

spf would be ok when ditra down u can start tiling.
your tiles are black so use a grey spf addy then.
8-10mm square for walls.

Kev,
If you have any concerns at all about the addy bleeding through the tiles, the best advice i could give you would be to back butter the tiles as well as serate the floor

surely that will still bleed through though - or are you saying that because you are covering the whole tile, if it does then it will be even and not noticable?

In real terms, is it that likely anyway? How porous is granite/quartz?
