tim west said:Can that be classed as stealing? methinks that they are on a sticky wicket here and a lot of staff could be applying for unfair dismissal.
It's a bit sad that they (management) get egg on their faces and are so embarassed they take it out on the staff, human nature after all is to look for a bargain.
but they wern't doing anything fraudulent involving anyones details or the like, they merely exploited a loophole, for which the only blame i can see falls with the management for not stopping it sooner. Why don't they admit they cocked up and reinstall the staff?BoxBasher said:tim west said:Can that be classed as stealing? methinks that they are on a sticky wicket here and a lot of staff could be applying for unfair dismissal.

Doing it once and not saying anything could be looked on with a bit of mercy, but 800 times? Its theft and deception, plain and simple - in a business where the employees have access to sensitive customer information (including access to financial history/bank details) then honesty & integrity are paramount.

agreed that would be theft, but the difference is that the staff were merely buying bracelets, just because they earn too many credits is the firms fault. I'd love to see this contested in court, i'd put money on the outcome.scatmanjohn said:Give over....If their was a cupboard full of tenners in the office and the management forgot to lock it would it then be ok for everyone to help theirselves?
Its theft.
You really have this bad habit of making statements you cannot substantiate ... Can we be clear for everyone reading this thread ... You are not a member of the legal profession. They are in s**t street legally. The Staff have not committed theft nor have they done anything that their terms and conditions would not cover.
