I've just bought a house with a Kahrs engineered wooden floor. The floor is in fine condition, but the previous owner has put a plasticy coating on it which has got dirty and is covered in scratches and worn out patches.

I've found that surgical spirit softens the coating really well without damaging the floor underneath, so you can scrape it off with a fingernail. But I've got about 100sqm to do and only ten fingernails... what's the best tool? I bought some plastic filling spreaders but the plastic isn't hard enough.

Thx!
